20 Sex and the City-quotes die nergens op sloegen

Sex and the City heeft ons back in the day allerlei wijze lessen over mannen, vriendschap en fashion geleerd. Toch zijn een paar van die uitspraken wel heel uh… bijzonder. Dit zijn een aantal SatC-quotes waar we achteraf misschien beter niet naar hadden kunnen luisteren. 1. “Shall we get more coffee or shall we get two guns and kill ourselves?” – Carrie via GIPHY Klinkt als een plan, Carrie! 2. “Sometimes I would buy Vogue instead of dinner. I felt it fed me more.” – Carrie Dit klinkt meer als een eating disorder dan goed advies… 3. "Gay men understand what’s important; clothes, compliments and cocks" – Samantha Voor een serie die zichzelf presenteerde als vooruitstreven over seksualiteit, is dit wel een gênant stereotype. 4. "I like a cheesburger, please, large fries and a cosmopolitan" – Carrie Hier is natuurlijk helemaal niks mis mee, behalve dat ze dit bij de drive through vraagt. Dat is toch wel een beetje bijzonder. 5. "I don’t believe in the Republican party or the Democratic party, I just believe in parties." – Samantha Misschien is het beter als Samantha niet gaat stemmen. 6. "I’m a ‘try-sexual’. I’ll try anything once." – Samantha Mildly offensive. 7. "Maybe pessimism is something we have to apply daily. Like moisturiser. Otherwise how do you bounce back when reality batters your belief system, and love does not, as promised, conquer all? Is hope a drug we need to go off of…or is it keeping us alive? What’s the harm in believing?" – Carrie Zo'n gevoel voor drama word je mee geboren… 8. "Can a relationship bring you back to life?" – Carrie Uhm, wat? Of het nou 1999 of 2021 is, een relatie is geen voorwaarde voor je happiness. Dat zou Carrie toch moeten weten. 9. "Yeah I am harsh. I’m also demanding, stubborn, self-demanding and always right" – Samantha We vinden het heerlijk dat Samantha unapologetically herself is, maar ook zij heeft weleens ongelijk. Zoals hier. 10. "I read that if you don’t have sex for a year you can be revirginised." – Charlotte Dit is dus een typisch gevalletje niet alles geloven wat je in een magazine leest. 11. "Maybe some woman aren’t meant to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free, until they find someone just as wild to run with." – Carrie Zeg, rende zij niet tien jaar lang achter dezelfde vent aan? 12. "With an armful of discount clothing, I realized I couldn’t discount my feelings." – Carrie Shoppen lost dus echt niet alle problemen op. Was het maar zo’n feest. 13. "Millions of people suffer from monogamy. There is no known cure." – Carrie Uhm… een scheiding, misschien? 14. "One woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure" – Charlotte Heerlijk idee, jouw man is het afdankertje van iemand anders. 15. "If you love someone and you break up, where does the love go?" – Carrie Die vliegt weg? Of misschien lost het gewoon op. Kan ook. 16. "Until he says: I love you, you’re a free agent" – Samantha Wat zouden mensen hiervan vinden als we de rollen omdraaien? 17. "I’m not even sure bisexuality exists. I think it’s just a layover on the way to Gay Town." – Carrie Ondanks dat haar beste vriend op mannen valt, kwamen er af en toe redelijk homofobe opmerkingen uit Carries mond. Hier zou de serie nowadays niet meer mee wegkomen. 18. "If you want to get these guys, you have to keep your mouth shut and play by the rules" – Charlotte Mannen zijn volgens Charlotte geïntimideerd door succesvolle vrouwen. Waarom zou je je in moeten houden bij een man, omdat hij bang voor je is? Daar kan je juist beter gebruik van maken. 19. "It takes half the total time you went out with someone to get over them" – Charlotte Alhoewel het een heel fijn en comforting idee kan zijn als je door een break-up gaat, is het écht niet waar. Elke relatie is anders en het kan dus korter of langer duren voordat je over iemand heen bent. 20. "‘Don’t be a bitch’ - I’m not. I'm just being myself" – Carrie Iconic. Maar wel een beetje arrogant.
